WAR BONNET WOGGLE

You need:

• 16 2-inch safety pins (one with a 10 inch piece of wire attached)
• 1 additional 10 inch piece of wire
• 19 red “spaghetti” beads (thin and about ¾ inch long)
• 19 red ½ inch wild “cartwheel” beads
• 20 large (8mm) round white beads
• 32 small (6 mm) round white beads
• 15 flat round white beads (1/4 inch rondelles)
• 2 leatherette strips, each 1 ½ inches long
• 2 feathers

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Open all but one pin, and add 1 cartwheel bead, 1 small white bead, 1 spaghetti bead and a second small white bead. Close each pin when done.

2. Thread the wire attached to the first pin through the closed end of all of the other beaded pins, placing 1 large white bead between each pin. MAKE SURE THAT BEADS ON PINS ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE.

3. With the help of a Scouter, wrap the end of the wire to the last pin and cut off any extra wire.

4. Thread the second piece of wire through the heads of the beaded pins, placing one flat white bead between each pin. Leave the same amount of extra wire on both ends.

5. On each wire end, place one large white bead, one spaghetti gead, a second large white bead and one cartwheel bead.

6. With the help of a Scouter, wrap the wire around the middle of the leatherette strip once. Cut off any extra wire.

7. Fold the leatherette strip in half. Place one feather between the ends of the strip so that it sticks out at the end. Glue the ends of the strip together, with the feather in the middle.

8. Have a Scouter bend the “tongue” in the head of the last pin so it is out of the way. Put this pin around the unbeaded side of the third pin from each end and close. Have the Scouter bend the “tongue” back into position.
